She totally rocks!
Her rich, sometimes ringing, booming, or deep voice tells us that she has a theatre background. She is light on her feet as she dances with ease and sways to Salsa, Bachata, Bollywood, Bhangra, or any music for that matter.
This is Diana Tholoor, 66 years, who has worn many hats in a career of 40 years — a dance and movement instructor, a thespian, a social entrepreneur with a heart for underprivileged kids and children with special needs and autism, a corporate trainer, and, above all, a praying partner, ready to pray for anybody.
Diana’s latest venture is a dance and exercise session for the 55+ who because of COVID are stuck at home. Says Diana, “I am working to bring a whole new experience to women who are 55+, 65+, 75+, 85+ and any daring 90-year-olds too. A mixture of dance, movement, music, strength, stamina training.”

How does Diana manage to stay alive and fit in body, mind, and spirit? Here are a few tips that you will help you compete with Diana.
- My first waking moment is to look to the Heavens with a Song of Praise – thanking God that “I am Alive”!
- Starting the day with a commitment to see good, think good of everyone and in every situation – not always easy, however, I try really hard!
- Always looking forward to a joy-filled and laughter-filled day of working with my special needs children, writing, teaching, just sitting around with my son.
- Walking boldly with an I-Can-Do-Attitude into new areas, challenging assignments, difficult situations, and of course, trusting God to see me through.
- Seeing things in a positive and fearless light –not quitting – always persevering regardless of how many obstacles stand in the way
- Being kind to one another – reminding myself of this especially in trying times, speaking words of kindness and gentleness.
- Dance, Dance, Dance!! Creating a pool of joy and hope to all those who join me, and there are many who do!
- Exercise, Exercise, Exercise! Setting movement goals that take me to one notch higher. And, there are a lot of 55+ ladies who accompany me in this.
- Pray! Pray! Pray!! Pray before, Pray during, Pray after every situation.
- My Tenet – Yesterday is gone. Today matters. God takes care of tomorrow – He is always in the centre of what I do.
